I thought at first glance that the background was a flag.

i've gottoo agree with a couple of those guys. Not on the brick texture so much as the stretching of the background image
(it did kinda tweak it into a flag at first glance) I think you understandably wanted to de-emphasize the swastika but ended up warping it too much. The figure's GREAT!
